Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and dedicated operator to assist our brokers in post-fixture operations. Candidates must ideally have at least two (2) years of relevant experience in vessel operations. Although training will be provided, applicants with prior operational experience will be given strong preference. The successful candidate should be proactive, capable of managing pressure, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.

Job Requirement

The main duties for this role include but will not be limited to:

a) Operation activities for spot-chartered vessels:

Monitoring vessel operations and providing daily updates

Maintaining good relationships with Shipowners, Charterers, and Shipping agents.

Cargo coordination, assisting in managing claims, negotiating with stakeholders to amicably resolve operational disputes, investigating discrepancies, enforcing the charter party terms.

Laytime calculations

b) Producing documentation (Charter parties / Booking notes / Bills of Lading etc)

Keeping meticulous records of fixtures, operational communications, and files.

Office administration and invoicing.

Maintaining databases

Ensuring digital filing systems are accurately maintained for audit purposes

c) Other business activities that are deemed appropriate by the employer

To ensure your success in this role, the incumbent must have:

Can-do attitude and the ability to work under pressure

Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building strong relationships

Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office skills

Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team

Strong problem-solving skills to tackle challenges and find effective resolutions.

Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage as dealing with Chinese carriers in this role is common.

This role at times requires the incumbent to work outside regular office hours (including weekends and some public holidays).
