We are in search of a friendly and customer-oriented Bakery/Cafe Retail Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about baked goods, have excellent customer service skills, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Bakery/Cafe Retail Assistant will be responsible for assisting customers, handling transactions, maintaining product displays, and ensuring a clean and welcoming bakery environment.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly, provide product information, and assist with selections to ensure a positive dining experience.
Take orders for customers, ensuring accuracy and process sales transactions accurately using the POS system.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all bakery products, including ingredients and potential allergens.
Ensure bakery displays are well-stocked, visually appealing, and organized. Replenish products as needed.
Keep the sales area, counters, and displays clean and sanitary. Follow all health and safety regulations.
Assist with inventory management, including receiving deliveries, checking for quality, and storing products correctly.
Handle customer complaints and inquiries in a professional manner, escalating issues to the Restaurant Manager/Management when necessary.
To assist in all other service tasks including table set up, taking food orders and serving food to customers when necessary.
Maintain composure and work under pressure during extreme service periods.
To assist the Restaurant Manager/Management with any ad-hoc duties.
Requirements and skills:
Service-oriented team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Attention to detail is crucial to ensure consistency of service.
Able to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast pace environment.
Previous experience in a retail or customer service role, preferably in a bakery or food service environment.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
