Job Description

Carrier ARCD is the regional sales and distribution hub specializing in essential spare parts, components, and accessories dedicated to Carrier and Toshiba HVAC systems (Air Conditioning) across South Asia Pacific region. Our client base spans from internal service repair teams to external partners such as dealers, and distributors.

We are seeking an experienced professional to oversee and optimize materials planning and inventory management processes for our region. This critical role ensures the availability of parts to fulfill customer orders while minimizing excess stock. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive efficient inventory management and ensure on-time order fulfillment. You will lead Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meetings, collaborating with key stakeholders to align demand and supply plans. By leveraging your expertise, you will manage key performance metrics such as fill rate and Net Inventory Turnover (NITO). Additionally, you will play a key role in managing and reducing Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory, ensuring smooth inventory flow and on-time customer order fulfillment.

This role is essential in establishing and optimizing materials planning processes to support the growth of our business in a dynamic parts hub environment. Your contributions will directly drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Planning & Optimization:

  • Develop and implement inventory strategies to ensure materials are available to meet customer order demand while optimizing inventory levels to fulfill orders accurately and on time, minimizing excess stock.
  • Forecast monthly inventory value and provide actionable insights to improve inventory management, optimize inventory turnover (NITO), and balance material availability with cost-effective inventory levels to support customer order fulfillment.
  • Maintain appropriate safety stock levels to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on time without overstocking.
  • Manage and reduce Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory to minimize costs and improve inventory efficiency.

Order Fulfillment & Customer Demand

  • Lead or participate in S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) meetings to ensure demand and supply plans are aligned across all functions.
  • Collaborate with the demand planner to align customer forecasts and develop actionable inventory strategies, adjusting stock levels based on anticipated sales trend.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to prioritize customer orders and ensure material availability supports order fulfillment timelines, driving improvements in fill rate.
  • Manage planning lead times in collaboration with the procurement team to ensure materials are available to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, procurement, and logistics to resolve supply chain issues and ensure timely material delivery, maintaining optimal stock levels for order fulfillment.

SAP MRP & Materials Management

  • Lead and optimize SAP MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and integrate with KetteQ to ensure effective material management for customer order fulfillment.
  • Manage and ensure accurate setup of Bill of Materials (BOM) processes for parent and child parts in MRP planning to support inventory needs and ensure correct component ordering and assembly.
  • Provide parts kitting instructions to ensure accurate and efficient assembly for order fulfillment.
  • Maintain accurate parts master data and configure SAP MRP systems to manage stock levels, lead times, and material setup for efficient retrieval and system management.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain inventory dashboards to track key performance metrics such as fill rates, NITO, SOTD, lead times, and inventory value, while reporting on supply chain KPIs to support order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular reports and analysis on material availability, inventory performance, and order fulfillment, while gathering and analyzing supply chain data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Monitors trends and forecasts supply chain needs, identifying potential risks or shortages.
  • Provide insights on inventory forecasts, material availability, and lead times to facilitate decision-making on customer demand fulfillment, inventory adjustments, and capacity planning.

Process Improvement & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Continuously improve materials planning processes to enhance inventory management and order fulfillment, recommending improvements based on data insights to optimize business performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including procurement, demand planning, sales, logistics, and operations, to ensure seamless materials flow, smooth operations, and effective order fulfillment, resolving issues based on data-driven recommendations.
  • Design SAP inventory location segregation for special projects.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field, (Master’s preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in materials planning, inventory management, or a related role, ideally in a parts or distribution 0r manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, data proficiency, and experience with inventory analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP MRP application.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and work cross-functionally.
  • Analytical and data-driven with problem-solving expertise.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable, able to manage inventory and meet customer demand in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain processes, including inventory management, order fulfillment, BOM, and lead time management.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven forecasting tools and automation technologies.
  • Willingness to travel if necessary.
