Support the Vice Dean and Assistant Deans in Office of Research and Technology (ORT) to grow our research within College of Design and Engineering (CDE) and NUS:
Lead in the study and analysis of overall research trends and the research funding landscape, identifying potential funding opportunities for CDE under the Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) framework.
Formulate and implement strategies to drive growth by securing funding opportunities aligned with CDE’s goals.
Oversee the analysis of historical CDE funding data to assess research capabilities, identifying both strengths and gaps.
Develop recommendations that inform future funding strategies. Responsible for compiling comprehensive reports for enhancing CDE’s research capabilities and growth.
Spearhead collaborative efforts with the team, leading the development, execution, and management of high-impact research strategies and large-scale programmes. Ensure that programmes are delivered on time and within scope.
Responsible for monitoring and assessing the impact of the strategies and programmes. Lead the process of continuously refining and updating strategies based on effectiveness and alignment with ORT goals. Drive corrective actions when necessary to ensure that initiatives meet expectations.
Lead the preparation and drafting of ad-hoc research-related reports and presentations.
Undertake additional ad-hoc initiatives and assignments as directed by the Vice Dean (Research and Technology). Demonstrate the ability in driving initiatives that align with broader objectives and priorities.
Qualifications
Recognised honours degree in a STEM discipline.
At least 5 years of experience in research management.
Self-starter with initiative to work in a fast-changing and disruptive environment.
Good communication skills with an outgoing personality and a good team player.
Good analytical and project management skills.
Good understanding of the local research, innovation and enterprise ecosystem.
Resourceful, and good at solving problems.
