Business Manager, MedTech

The Business Manager will oversee commercial operations, drive growth strategies, and manage key business functions for the MedTech portfolio for the Singapore market. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth, and building strong relationships with users at hospitals, imaging centres as well as business stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business strategies to achieve sales, revenue, and market share targets within the MedTech sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize product positioning and market adoption.
  • Manage the business portfolio, ensuring product launch plans, marketing strategies, and sales initiatives are aligned with business goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and market expansion opportunities in the MedTech space.
  • Lead market research and competitive analysis to understand customer needs, industry trends, and market dynamics.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, healthcare providers, and key decision-makers to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial management for the MedTech business unit, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on business performance, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to the MedTech team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Key Traits:

1. Deep Knowledge of Contrast Media and knowledge in radiography sector

  • In-depth understanding of contrast agents and their clinical applications in diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, X-rays, etc.).
  • Expertise in how different contrast media work, their safety profiles, and the regulatory landscape for these products.
  • Ability to communicate the clinical benefits and risks of contrast media to healthcare professionals.

2. Technical & Regulatory Expertise

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements specific to contrast media products, including FDA, EMA, and other regional regulatory bodies.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical and technical specifications for contrast agents, including formulations, contraindications, and proper usage in imaging procedures.

3. Clinical Understanding & Customer Engagement

  • Ability to engage with radiologists, radiographers. healthcare providers, and key decision-makers to provide clinical support and education on the benefits of contrast media products.
  • Experience in developing relationships with hospitals, imaging centres, and radiology departments to increase product adoption.
  • Ability to conduct clinical training sessions and provide technical assistance to ensure the proper use of contrast agents.
  • Develop Key Opinions Leader in usage of contrast and strong advocates for product branding.

4. Market Insight & Competitive Knowledge

  • Awareness of the competitive landscape of contrast media products, including differentiators such as cost, efficacy, and safety profiles.
  • Ability to monitor market trends, understand customer needs, and adjust commercial strategies to respond to competitor innovations and market demands.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends such as the development of new contrast agents, imaging technologies, and patient safety improvements.

5. Regulatory & Risk Management Skills

  • Ability to navigate the specific regulatory pathways for contrast media approval, ensuring compliance with both pre-market and post-market regulations.
  • Experience in managing adverse events, recalls, and risk assessments associated with contrast media products.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacovigilance, patient safety protocols, and product lifecycle management in the context of contrast agents.

6. Strong Commercial Strategy & Financial Acumen

  • Ability to drive commercial growth and profitability through pricing strategies, market penetration, and product positioning of contrast media products.
  • Ability to manage product portfolios, evaluate financial performance, and make strategic decisions to optimize revenue in the contrast media segment.
  • Proficiency in conducting cost-benefit analysis, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure profitable product sales.

7. Collaboration with R&D & Product Development

  • Ability to work closely with the R&D teams to influence the development of new contrast agents based on market and clinical needs.
  • Strong collaboration with product development teams to ensure new products align with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between scientific advancements and market needs to drive innovation in contrast media.

8. Customer Education & Training Expertise

  • Capability to educate healthcare professionals and customers about the latest advancements in contrast media technologies.
  • Ability to conduct workshops, seminars, and in-field education for clinicians, radiologists, and medical imaging specialists to support product usage.

9. Crisis Management & Problem-Solving

  • Ability to manage potential product issues or complications, such as adverse patient reactions or regulatory challenges.
  • Quick decision-making and problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations related to product safety or customer concerns.

  • Passion for improving patient outcomes through the advancement of contrast media technologies.
  • Ability to prioritize patient safety, efficacy, and quality in the development and commercialization of contrast agents.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in business management or commercial roles within the MedTech or healthcare industry.
  • Proven experience in managing a business unit or product portfolio with a strong track record of revenue growth.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address business challenges.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of MedTech products, market dynamics, and industry regulations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
