The Cancer Science Institute (CSI) is seeking a highly accomplished Visiting Professor to engage in collaborative research within the areas of telomere biology and R-loop biology. The Visiting Professor will contribute to advancing scientific knowledge through innovative research, mentoring of lab members, and fostering international collaborations that will enhance CSI’s research standing.
Lead and collaborate on research projects focused on:
Biochemical characterization of changes in telomeric chromatin upon acute DNA damage induction.
Investigation of evolutionarily conserved features of RNAseH1-bound R-loops.
Actively participate in lab meetings, institute seminars, and CSI Research Meetings to contribute to scientific discussions and idea exchange.
Support the training, development, and mentorship of research staff and students in Dr. Kappei’s laboratory.
Establish and expand collaborative research efforts with other researchers at NUS, including work on projects co-led by Dr. Jason Pitt.
Enhance CSI’s international research network by fostering collaborations with renowned institutions and researchers globally.
Prepare and submit at least one joint grant application during the term of appointment.
PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Established track record of research excellence, particularly in telomere biology, genome stability, RNA biology, or chromatin dynamics.
Experience in mentoring and training early-career researchers and graduate students.
Strong publication record in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Prior experience in securing competitive research funding is advantageous.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
