Senior Accountant (Japanese Speaking)

This role offers a unique opportunity to work with industry experts to support our business on the back end of media platform operations in a rapidly growing global e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting team in all aspects of accounting, finance, and operations.
• Maintain Singapore accounting and operational policies and processes.
• Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, summarize key risk areas, and report to Singapore management.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Track records and work with local tax team to pay taxes and Document new procedures based on changes in regulatory laws.
• Create and maintain internal controls and financial policies to maximize and establish process efficiencies.
• Perform financial analysis, monitor platform transaction metrics, and present data in a clear format to management.
• Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile all financial accounts, including daily transaction reconciliations on the exchange platform.
• Manage payments and oversee the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions.
• Work closely with other departments to understand their operations.
• Contributes to a variety of financial tasks, including preparing invoices, supporting documentation for group audits, and liaising with external accountants.

Requirements

• Fluent in English and Business level Japanese
• 5 years of experience in finance or accounting.
• Knowledge and understanding of XERO
• Strong knowledge of BS/PL accounting procedures in conjunction with IFRS.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in both Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, as well as online communication such as Slack.
