Various life-saving appliances and fire-fighting appliances must be installed, inspected, maintained, and repaired aboard ships while adhering to SOLAS and class rules.
In accordance with manufacturer instructions and legal requirements, perform routine testing and inspections of lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other firefighting apparatus.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults, finding and fixing technical problems quickly and efficiently.
Maintain and certify LSA/FFA equipment annually while following safety regulations and industry best practices.
For the sake of regulatory compliance, keep thorough records of all maintenance operations, inspections, and repairs.
Work together with marine engineers, ship workers, and other interested parties to guarantee the safe and dependable operation of firefighting and life-saving systems aboard ships.
Qualifications:
Four years or more of experience working in the maritime sector as an LSA/FFA Technician or a comparable position.
Competent knowledge of SOLAS norms, class regulations, and other pertinent maritime standards.
Exceptional technical abilities and practical expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing lifeboats, liferafts, fire extinguishers, and related gear.
Outstanding troubleshooting skills, including the ability to quickly identify and fix equipment issues.
Meticulous with an emphasis on precision and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
Strong communication abilities, including the capacity to work with a variety of teams and convey technical information in an understandable and efficient manner.
