Full-Time Front-of-House Manager (Bakery)

About Us:

Wheathead is a small-batch bakery with a focus on quality baked goods and seasonal produce. We put out pastries, sandwiches, pies, as well as soups and salads when we can.

There’s a lot to be done in this tiny bakery, and many ideas that we’d like to realise. We love what we do and are seeking like-minded individuals to join our (very) small team!

Job Summary:

We’re not going to sugarcoat things. If you’re reading this, you probably know that F&B IS hard work. There’s a lot of work behind the scenes, including daily cleaning (sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors included) and a good amount of dishwashing.

We are seeking a dedicated Full-Time Front-of-House Manager; someone who won’t shy away from the housekeeping mentioned above, and wants to work through the daily grind with us. On top of serving up food and beverages from our rotational menu, you will mainly be responsible for all other FOH-related duties.

At the same time, you must take pride in your work and be able to deliver great customer experience in a fast-paced environment. Building community is always essential in sustaining a F&B business, and so you must be a people person (at least while on the job!).

This is a hands-on role and because we are a small, new business, we are always looking to improve on all aspects of our business. The ideal candidate is someone who is proactive in this area and would like to contribute to the growth of a business.

Requirements:

• Preferably have 2-3 years of prior managerial experience in F&B settings
• Basic food hygiene certification is required
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes
• Able to work weekends & public holidays
• Must be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good command of written and spoken English
• PC literate with knowledge in MS Office
• Possess effective management skills including the capability to lead, motivate and manage subordinates
• Must be a teamplayer

Job Scope:

• Oversee operations with focus on product knowledge, staff training and customer satisfaction
• Streamline operational processes to ensure a smooth workflow
• Train and supervise the FOH team
• Enforce and ensure compliance to the Company’s SOPs, governmental regulations, food safety & hygiene standards and quality control within the store
• Responsible for opening and closing balances, daily sales reports and transactions
• Inventory management and planning of FOH stock
• General housekeeping and ensuring a pleasant store environment
• Attend to guests’ requests and handle complaints tactfully when required
