Position: Electrical Superintendent (Tanker Ships) Reports To: Fleet Manager/Technical Director

Role Overview: The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the electrical, electronics and automation systems and its maintenance within the company’s fleet. This role ensures the vessels’ electrical and automation systems operate efficiently, comply with regulatory standards, and undergo timely maintenance and repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure proper maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and automation systems in the fleet.
  • Participate in newbuilding and retrofit projects and ensure related equipment/systems are reviewed thoroughly and adequately to achieve final outcome of good operability by its user.
  • Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to ensure strict compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to shipboard staff regarding electrical and automation systems.
  • Plan and oversee dry-docking, repairs, and maintenance schedules for electrical equipment.
  • Work closely with the technical and marine teams to improve vessel performance and operational efficiency.
  • Establish and monitor company or ship specific spare parts inventory. This will also require coordinating closely between ship, shore – Operations and Procurement department ensure timely availability of necessary electrical components.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in maritime electrical systems to enhance vessel operations.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical & Electronics Engineering is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation specific to tanker vessels is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to vessels and shipyards as required.
  • Sailing experience is not a must but can be an added advantage.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills with experience in vessel retrofits and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices in maritime electrical systems.
