Workplace Safety And Health Manager (WSHM) Responsibilities
Develop and implement Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations (e.g., WSH Act, ISO 45001).
Oversee site safety operations to ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the risk assessments and safety plans.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective/preventive measures.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
Train and guide staff on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders (project teams, contractors, authorities) to drive a strong safety culture and ensure alignment on safety goals.
Prepare and submit safety reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and company safety policies.
Chair safety committee meetings and represent the company during inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a WSH Specialist Diploma, equivalent qualification, or a relevant degree.
Must be a registered WSH Officer with MOM.
Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the WSH field.
Self-driven and a strong team player, with leadership qualities and ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster effective collaboration across departments and levels.
Able to start work at short notice will be an added advantage.
