Job Description

The Job

  • Ensure all statutory equipment used by the division have valid certifications in compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications and maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate safety performance and capabilities of contractors and subcontractors.
  • Establish standardised operations safety procedures, processes and workflows in compliance with applicable safety laws, standards and regulations.
  • Ensure all employees understand and adhere to these procedures and processes.
  • Provide guidance and support to departmental managers and employees on safety-related matters.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of workplace equipment, tools, and procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Identify unsafe acts and conditions, document findings and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Conduct RA for various work activities, including confined space entry, DG handling, welding, and work at height.
  • Develop and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks, including the preparation of SWP and RA.
  • Monitor compliance with SWPs and RAs during the execution of work activities.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, analyse root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assess and evaluate worksite conditions of various PTW applications (i.e. hot work, confined space, work-at-height and lifting) prior to approval by the authorised party.
  • Identify and eliminate (or minimize) potential hazards of worksite and communicate hazards involved to the affected workers.
  • Communicate hazards to workers and ensure their safety during high-risk tasks.

The Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in a technical field (Electrical / Mechanical Engineering / Occupational Health & Safety) or relevant safety management qualification.
  • Professional safety certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH or OSHA certifications) preferred.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar role and familiar with Singapore safety regulations and guidelines, including MOM and WSH regulations.
  • Strong commitment to safety excellence and a proactive in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership and influencing skills to drive safety culture and awareness.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to uphold safety standards and regulations.
