Java Developer | Bank | Contract

The position requires autonomy and reliability in performing duties while maintaining close communication with the rest of the project/support teams, as well as the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. The candidate will need to develop a good understanding of both IT systems and business processes.

Job Scope

• Study, evaluate, understand, and provide feedback on functional specifications.
• Develop solutions following defined standards and high quality.
• Elaborate technical specifications based on functional requirements and high-level architecture.
• Contribute to technical design and liaise with business analysts on all aspects of business requirements.
• Participate in analyzing, resolving, and providing technical support escalated to the team.
• Draft specifications, technical designs, unit tests, peer reviews, detailed system integration documents, and any other documents required during the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to maintaining a high standard of delivery quality.
• Participate in technical discussions and propose solutions based on industry best practices.
• Perform Level 3 support of applications in production — analyze and resolve issues as they arise.

Job Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in Java-J2EE, PL/SQL, EBS & BI software engineering, ideally in a banking environment.
• Hands-on experience with Core Java 5 or 8 (SE), JSP.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Framework.
• Hands-on experience with SVN, Eclipse, Maven, JUnit, MQ messaging.
• Hands-on experience with Shell scripting, SQL, Jasper Reports, JBoss/Tomcat/Jetty.
• Hands-on experience with Hibernate, IDE Eclipse, JSP, and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle EBS – GL.
• Hands-on experience with SAP – BI.
• Hands-on experience with PL/SQL.
• Hands-on experience with GCP (Google Cloud Platform).
• Exposure to Angular 4/14, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Jenkins, Maven, RESTful.
• Exposure to CI/CD implementation.
• Exposure to MQ and CFT.
• Exposure to NoSQL Database.
• Exposure to Big Data Framework.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills; proactive and autonomous, with a problem-solving orientation.
• Experienced working within a LEAN environment.
• Capable of effectively interacting with functional and technical teams.
• Proficient in Draw.io and Visio.
