The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a strong candidate in the area of composite design and loads simulation for eVTOL. This research area is aligned with the university targets on alignment with Industry 4.0.
The candidate scope of work includes the following main areas of responsibility:
Contributing to the design of airframe and associated components.
Studying, modelling and simulating aircraft loads
Studying of vibration and coupling
Undertake composite layup design of aircraft structures and perform simulations to ensure airworthiness requirements are met.
Optimisation of composite layup design
Liaise with industry partners
Participate and lead in experimental activities, procurement, fabrication, testing and assembly.
Preparing presentations and reports for agencies and industrial partners.
Maintaining lab facilities and taking care of purchasing and other administrative tasks.
Supporting the team in research and lab developments
Requirements:
The position requires high creativity and research capability. The candidate must have outstanding academic records and research experience in the area of structures and/or composites.
BEng / MEng in Engineering from a recognized university and excels in the area of composites and structures.
Good team player, enthusiastic and good communication skills.
Able to perform multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Having industrial experience would be highly considered.
Experience in Finite-element methods, vibrations and composite fabrication methods would be highly considered.
