Visiting Professor for Silicon Photonics and Integrated Photonics

Nanyang Technological University (NTU) invites applications for a Visiting Professor in silicon photonics.

NTU has developed a world-leading position in the fundamental research on quantum and topological photonics, advanced photonic materials and metamaterials. Further development of silicon photonics and advanced Integrated Photonics at NTU is to enable the translation of the results of fundamental studies into technologies on integrated photonics platforms, positioning NTU and Singapore at the forefront of the photonics industry of the future. In this connection, the School of EEE is looking for a visiting professor who has successfully adapted himself/herself to work in the fields of silicon photonics and integrated photonics. The ideal candidate should have strong research experience, achievements and contributions in integrated photonic. He/she is expected to develop strategies for NTU's Si and Integrated photonic research and contribute to NTU's effort in bidding for new mega research programs in photonics.

Responsibilities

• Work with NTU's research team to develop strategies for NTU's integrated photonic research, especially in silicon photonics.
• Assist NTU in recruiting promising young scientists and engineers in the area of Si photonic as faculty and research staff.
• Enhance NTU's international visibility and impact by helping to promote NTU, as well as helping the School of EEE establish potentially rewarding international exchanges and contacts that would lead to fruitful international research collaborations and funding.
• Contribute to EEE postgraduate programme to train postgraduates in Si photonics which are highly demanded by the industry in recent years.

Requirements

Candidates with the following qualifications are encouraged to apply:

• Full professor in silicon photonics and integrated photonic from a reputable university.
• At least 10 years of work experience in electrical and electronic engineering, especially in integrated photonics.
• More than 5 years of managerial and/or leadership experience in university research.
• Good command of verbal and written English.
