The Residential Life's vision is to partner with the leadership of NUS hostels in creating a home-away-from-home residential experience where every student feels supported, engaged, and empowered to thrive, both within the residential community and beyond.
As member of the Residential Life team, the incumbent will play a key role in fostering a safe, enriching, and conducive living environment across NUS hostels. The role involves providing timely guidance to hostels, supporting the development and implementation of policies that enhance resident's holistic experience, and promoting initiatives that empower students to grow, contribute meaningfully, and succeed during their time in residence.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Community Standards Enforcement
Assist in managing living and community standards in NUS hostels, including conducting fact-finding investigations, handling disciplinary cases, maintaining accurate records, and reviewing related policies and practices.
Conduct regular reviews to identify emerging trends, recurring issues, and potential gaps related to disciplinary cases and housing regulation breaches within the hostels.
2. Communications
Drafting major announcements & media responses for the section.
Facilitate briefings for policies relating to social media and outreach to new residents.
Review of content hosted on OSA RL website and social media platforms.
Coordinate projects such as NUS Open House and freshman webinars.
Oversight of the ResLife Marcom Internship Programme
NUSync Administrator for hostels
3. Hostel Transformation
Work with the team to develop resident staff competency training roadmaps.
Gather a community of best practices within the hostels
Manage projects in collaboration with other university offices and hostels' leaders to enrich the residential experiences of NUS students.
Assist the team in drafting and reviewing policies and papers to improve student life in NUS hostels.
4. Others
Handling ad-hoc projects as and when assigned.
Qualifications
A good University degree with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
Proficiency in software applications, including Microsoft Office and Various social media platforms.
Meticulous, with proven record in project planning and organization skills.
Articulate in both written and verbal communication
Organized and able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Demonstrates excellent skills in teamwork and collaboration with stakeholders.
