Summary of Position:

The Airfreight Manager is responsible for the leadership and management of airfreight operations in Singapore to be based at Changi Cargo Agents Building E. This role includes the implementation of Singapore office’s strategic directions and initiatives, with the responsibility for budget preparation, policy compliance, statutory compliance, excellent operations performance and growth. This position will report to Senior Logistics Manager/Country Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Strategic Direction: Establishment of directions for the Air Freight Department.
• Operations Excellence: Implementation of programs to deliver excellence in execution of all activities with high productivity. Planning and participating, maintenance and enforcement of our Quality, Safety, Environment and Security systems to ISO standards in compliance with our Management System. Implement program for 100% regulatory and statutory compliance in all air freight operations in Singapore. Establish systems for reporting and measuring performance.
• Exceptional Customer Service: Establish programs for engaging customers with the PSA BDP Experience. Establish good relationships with all strategic customers.
• Competitive advantage through IT: Build expertise in the Air Freight Department to use our in-house IT Systems. Implement plans for data entry and analysis. Keep system development up to speed and ahead of industry practices.
• Staff Management: Build skills in Air Freight and providing a safe and empowering work environment. Ensure an effective training and development program is in place for staff. Put in place plans for staff development to prepare for future staffing needs.
• Sustainable Profitability: Ensure development programs are focused on achieving budget forecasts. Improve cashflow through programs good AR practices and fast accurate invoicing.
• Growth: Build programs for retaining existing customers, develop growth strategies for the department to achieve growth through farming existing accounts.
  
  

Job Requirements

You will be responsible for:

• Close liaison with all PSA BDP Offices and Regional/Global Teams
• Monitoring the completion of all agreed strategic plans, action items and projects
• Review and analysis of business process for improvement
• Liaise with customers and build relationships between organizations
• Implement change programs where necessary
• Monthly reporting and KPI administration
• Project status communications
  
  

Specifications:

• Minimum 6 years managerial experience in air freight operations
• Good knowledge of Air operations and airlines
• Proven performance in Management position
• Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management an advantage
• Skillful in MS Office and good understanding of IT systems an advantage
• Proven leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong Customer Service Focus
