About the role
The National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School is seeking a charismatic, strategic, and accomplished professional to lead its Corporate Communications Office. As the steward of the School’s brand and reputation, the Head of Corporate Communications will play a pivotal leadership role in shaping and amplifying the School’s brand globally. This includes identifying strategic opportunities to strengthen brand positioning and visibility in international markets, while driving School-level marketing and communications strategies that reflect the School’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team and oversee a comprehensive communications portfolio—including corporate branding, media relations, internal and external communications, executive messaging, and content strategy—integrated across multiple platforms and geographies. The candidate will also lead public relations efforts and crisis communications, ensuring timely, consistent, and effective messaging during sensitive or high-stakes situations. The role requires a gifted communicator adept at collaborating across multiple offices to galvanize school-wide initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
Provide effective stewardship of the NUS Business School brand
Oversee a team of 7 staff members, strengthening the team through personal guidance and professional development, creating a high-performing and cohesive team. Seamlessly manage the major team functional areas of (i) global media relations, (ii) social media engagement, (iii) branding and School-level marketing communications, (iv) website management.
Spearhead communication initiatives with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring both high impact and alignment with the School’s values
Establish and maintain relationships with media contacts, outlets, journalists and influencers in relevant markets
Brand Leader
Boost the School’s positioning as a world-class leader in business education and the partner of choice for students, faculty, employers, and other corporate and academic institutions –through School-level campaigns, media relations, corporate announcements, press releases, social media and the overall corporate communications portfolio
Collaborate with the programme offices, strategic relations and career services, to develop and drive School-level campaigns for identified target markets and geographies
Align and strengthen branding across the School, contributing to a vibrant and cohesive NUS BIZ community spirit
Lead crisis communications to anticipate and respond to any situations with reputational risk
External Communications
Strategize, design, integrate and execute School-level marketing and social media content to support the School’s objectives
Oversee all assets and aspects of social media, including influencer and performance marketing
Measure the effectiveness of campaigns to refine engagement strategies and optimize decision-making
Oversee all School-level content marketing initiatives to drive traffic, engagement and leads for the School
Manage the budget to ensure both impact and accountability in spending
Thought Leadership Portfolio
Create a content strategy and editorial plan, while working closely with relevant stakeholders, including contributing faculty, on how to deliver output that further promotes the School’s brand
Internal Communications
Work closely with the Dean’s office to update the community on the latest news and milestones, using various communication channels for internal stakeholders
Produce creative internal content to contribute to a positive, one-School spirit and culture
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant disciplines
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications (more experience will be preferred)
Experience and demonstrated skill in managing in-house teams, agencies and diverse stakeholders
Expertise in content marketing, storytelling, digital media planning and optimisation, marketing strategy and web analytics
Video production capabilities are a plus
Excellent organisation, multi-tasking and time management skills
Exceptional communication, writing and editing ability
Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with numerous stakeholders, internal and external
Resilient, dynamic and driven with a growth mindset
Tenacious, flexible and resourceful to problem-solve, clear roadblocks and resolve challenging situations with stakeholders, external agencies and partners
