Purpose and Scope

This intern will be attached to our SembWaste business unit.

Waste management is essential for a sustainable future. Sembcorp offers waste & waste-to-resource solutions for efficient resource utilization and in support of a circular economy.

As a leading environmental service provider in Singapore, we are focused on waste management and recycling services. We offer a comprehensive range of services to customers in the municipal, industrial and commercial sectors. Our solid waste management services includes waste collection as well as processing & recycling.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Data Collection & Cleaning

• Assist in gathering data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Perform data cleaning and preprocessing to prepare datasets for analysis.

Data Analysis

• Support the team in analyzing data to uncover insights and trends. Use statistical tools and techniques to interpret data and generate actionable recommendations.

Reporting

• Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present findings to stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of presentations and data summaries.

Research & Documentation

• Conduct research on industry trends, BI best practices, and emerging technologies. Provide summaries and insights to support strategic initiatives. Document data processes, methodologies, and findings for future reference.

Collaboration

• Work closely with BI team members and other departments to understand data requirements and provide analytical support. Participate in meetings and contribute to project discussions.

Qualification, Skills and Experience

• Background in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar. Basic knowledge of SQL and data visualization techniques is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to interpret data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey data insights and recommendations.
• Problem-Solving: Creative and critical thinking skills to address complex data challenges and propose effective solutions.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
