Meals with Love Programme (MwL) is a temporary, stop-gap measure to alleviate identified families’ financial burdens through the disbursement of grocery vouchers while the family works with their social worker/ case worker to develop a long-term care plan.


Steady Steps Scheme (S^3) is an extension of the existing Meals with Love Programme that provides focused assistance to families with full time employment to achieve financial self-reliance within two years. The objective of the programme is to support carefully identified families in prioritizing debt clearance and in building a financial buffer through a targeted assistance approach.


JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE


To provide operational and logistical support for the successful execution and expansion of the Meals with Love (MwL) and Steady Steps Scheme (S^3) programmes. This role includes direct interaction with beneficiaries, managing volunteers, and supporting administrative tasks to ensure the smooth delivery of programme services.


Key Responsibilities

1. Programme operations support, including assisting in the preparation and distribution of Meals with Love vouchers, food packs and managing of resources to support the Steady Steps Scheme

2. Beneficiary engagement & support, including supporting the team to conduct home visits and maintain communication with programme beneficiaries in a positive, respectful and professional manner, ensuring needs are addressed and progress/ impact is monitored.

3. Volunteer engagement & management, providing support in recruiting, engaging, and managing volunteers for regular and ad-hoc projects and ensuring effective volunteer contribution to programme activities.

4. Logistics support, assisting in the logistical planning and execution of tasks, including the disbursement of financial aid, groceries, and food packs.

5. Administrative support, including managing the tracking and collection of vouchers from Points of Contact at distribution centres, liaising with social workers and ensuring records are maintained promptly and accurately.

6. Conduct research to support programme development, expansion, and continuous improvement of Meals with Love and Steady Steps Scheme, along with other related initiatives.

7. Address beneficiary inquiries, responding to questions and feedback, and cultivate positive and professional communication to promote engagement and enhance programme impact.

8. Provide additional engagement support across related programmes and projects as needed, facilitating effective collaboration with other teams, community partners, donors and stakeholders.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS


Educational Requirements

1. Relevant Diploma from a recognised institution or

2. Relevant Nitec Certificate from the Institute of Technical Education Experience: Previous experience in non-profit or social service settings is an advantage, especially in programme management, volunteer coordination, or community engagement.

1. Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

2. Capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also being an effective collaborator in team settings.

3. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, with strong interpersonal skills to engage a diverse range of individuals, including beneficiaries, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

4. Ability to recruit, motivate, and manage a team of volunteers from diverse backgrounds.

5. Strong service-oriented mindset with attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent service to programme beneficiaries and stakeholders.

6. Interest and passion for working with vulnerable populations, including families, children, and seniors, as well as diverse groups of community partners and volunteers.

7. Ability to work during evenings and weekends when required, with compensatory time-off provided.


Additional Skills & Knowledge

1. A genuine interest in the non-profit or social service sector, with a focus on community welfare and support for families facing challenges

2. Knowledge of the social service landscape in Singapore is advantageous but not required.

3. Experience in planning and executing projects or events is an advantage.

4. Familiarity with tools like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace is required.

5. Candidates with previous volunteer or internship experience in similar sectors will have an added advantage.
