SOC Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented SOC Engineer to join our client's Security Operations Center (SOC) team. In this role, you will monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents during office hours. You will work closely with the SOC team to ensure the organization's network and systems are secure, and assist in incident response and threat mitigation.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor security alerts and logs across various security tools and platforms.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
• Analyze network traffic, system logs, and other data sources to detect and resolve potential security threats.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis to identify security weaknesses.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaborate with internal teams to mitigate security risks and improve overall security posture.
• Generate reports on security incidents, trends, and recommendations.
• Provide incident escalation and support to higher-level SOC team members if necessary.
• Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) platforms.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint security.
• Hands-on experience with threat hunting, vulnerability management, and incident response.
• Knowledge of security best practices, frameworks, and compliance standards.
• Ability to analyze and interpret security logs and data.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Skills:

• Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security is a plus
• Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
