This role will assist the VP of Network Planning in managing and optimizing service networks to enhance efficiency and support business growth. This role involves analyzing existing services, collaborating with internal stakeholders to refine network structures, and identifying opportunities for strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Planning & Strategy: Support the development of a comprehensive network strategy aligned with the company’s long-term objectives. This includes defining market coverage, service allocations, route structures, vessel deployment (size and design), cascading plans, partnerships, and evaluating potential slot exchanges or sales.
Operational Feasibility & Optimization: Assess the feasibility of proforma schedules, recommending adjustments such as vessel sizing, leg modifications, and port move optimizations to align with market conditions. Propose refinements related to sailing speed, port rotations, move counts, and vessel design to enhance efficiency.
Expansion & Market Development: Conduct in-depth studies to support new market development and strategic initiatives. Evaluate swap agreements with partners to expand service coverage and optimize cost efficiencies.
Competitive Analysis & Industry Insights: Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to ensure the company’s network remains competitive. Stay updated on pricing strategies, service innovations, and utilization trends to support informed decision-making.
