Maintenance Gardener

We are actively recruiting for an experienced Handyman/ Gardener to be part of the maintenance team. We have 31 independent living apartments and a 84 bed care home

The role can be full-time or Part time , flexibility will be required due to business needs.

A brief description of the role is outlined below.

The role:

To provide routine maintenance checks on changeover days, safety checks and repairs to the properties including the grounds.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Daily work sheet will be provided by the Site Manager.
• Weekly checks including fire alarm tests
• Ensure properties are maintained to high standards.
• Carry out daily property checks.
• Health & Safety training and any additional skills training as necessary will be provided.

Essential skills:

• Must have both a good level of DIY knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge in a practice
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Well organised with good time management skills

Experience:

• Competitive rate of pay experience in basic maintenance duties ie joinery, electrics, plumbing, decorating,gardening.

40 hours per week

Paid holidays

Transport essential due to location.

The applicant must be competent and have experience to

• Looking after the grounds of the village
• Install and maintain seasonal plants
• Mow, trim and fertilize green spaces
• Mulch, edge and weed gardens
• Prune and trim trees and bushes
• Monitor and maintain the health of plants
• Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
• Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter and safe for residents

Required Skills

· Must be friendly and courteous

· Attention to detail

· A good track record of work and 2 references

· Maintenance experience

· Have initiative

· DBS Clearance

· Transport and a clean driving licence

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to £15.00 per hour
