Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Advisor
to join our vibrant and supportive team
within Student Wellbeing Services, where you will assist with the provision of specialist evidence-based support to students who are experiencing emotional and/or psychological difficulties.
About the Role
As our dedicated Mental Health Advisor, you will provide individual support to students experiencing mental health distress. Your responsibilities will include mental health triage, risk assessment, safety planning, and referrals to internal and external services.
You will deliver follow-up care, manage complex cases, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including GPs and NHS services. The role involves maintaining confidentiality, accurate record-keeping, and working with students to promote self-help.
You will also contribute to service improvement, provide training to staff, and stay updated on best practices. Regular supervision and collaboration across the university are essential.
About You
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore the successful candidate will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The University operates a no smoking policy to promote a healthier working environment.
The post holder will be required to work flexibly at various times throughout the year and there will be restrictions on the ability to take annual leave at peak times.

Salary: Grade 7, £37,999 to £42,632 per annum
This is a Hybrid role - 3 days onsite/2 days working from home
