Application Deadline: 1 December 2024

Department: Data & Insights Service

Location: Bath - Newton Park

Compensation: £33,232 - £36,924 / year

Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Data Quality Officer to join our team. If you're a perfectionist with a keen eye for detail and a passion for improving data processes and can help us improve and maintain the quality of our student records data, then this could be the role for you.

If you have experience of student records in a higher education context (for example Registry, Admissions, Assessments), enjoy working with databases, and are driven to deliver improvements, then we would love to hear from you.

About the Role

Within this role you will conduct and develop regular data quality audits to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the data held within our student records database, SITS.

You will identify opportunities for improving data capture, processing, and reporting, and will work with student-facing teams across the University to improve student record keeping and data quality.

You will communicate these improvements to SITS users within and outside the department to ensure that data is captured and processed to support the University's data audit strategy, and to meet the requirements of internal student monitoring and external statutory returns.

You will provide high-level support and expertise on SITS-related enquiries from both within and outside the department, contribute to the development of training materials and process documentation, and provide guidance to teams from across the University.

About You

You will be highly self-motivated and resourceful, be an experienced user of a student records database (ideally SITS) and a strong background in data quality management. You will be highly proficient in using Microsoft Excel to analyse and manipulate data, and have knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools, such as PowerBI or MS Access.

You will enjoy working collaboratively across teams, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. In addition, you will have a degree or will have significant relevant experience gained in a UK higher education setting which is essential.

Additional Information

There may be occasions where you are expected to work outside of your normal hours for the purpose of attending conferences, public events, etc.

Interview Date - Monday 9th December 2024
