The focus of your role:
As Social Media Editor, you will be responsible for all content across EMPIRE and Pilot TV’s social media channels.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a varied, daily calendar of content across the Empire and Pilot TV social media channels - including responsive, news-based ideas
- Working with the editorial and art team to create engaging written, graphic-led and video content
- Planning and executing a social media strategy to achieve specific, quantifiable targets geared around traffic to empireonline.com, and new listeners to the various brand podcasts
- Coming up with and executing new social initiatives/campaigns to better market Empire and its various products and platforms
- Growing our existing audience in print, online and across audio
- Identifying any valuable partnerships/collaborations with a social focus
- Liaising with the Reviews Editor and Digital Editor/Deputy Editor on review embargos - ensuring that all corresponding social activity is planned and executed as agreed
- Working with marketing and subscription teams on priorities and to drive magazine subscription sales, subscriptions to the Empire and Pilot TV podcasts, and signups/events for the Empire VIP Club
- Taking point on reader contact and replying to reader queries
- Moderating/monitoring the EMPIRE Facebook group to ensure guidelines and rules are followed
- Maintaining a consistent brand tone across the various platforms
- Being responsible for the publishing and scheduling of all social activity
- Reviewing and interpreting social analytics to measure the effectiveness of output
- Writing articles and copy for the Empire website where needed
- Performing interviews for articles where needed
- Forming and maintain relationships with publishing leads within the key social media platforms
- Keeping abreast of industry trends and lead social media best practices across the Empire and Pilot brands
- Overseeing social reporting to ensure KPIs around engagement and audience scale are met
What you'll bring:
You will be a social media obsessive full of amazing ideas, who can turn this into killer content and drive results across the brand.
You will have experience in a social media role on another magazine or newspaper brand, or a proven track record using social media to successfully market a brand and increase its reach/performance.
However, if you've created incredible work in social media elsewhere, we'd still love to hear from you.
Oh, and you should be as excited by film and TV as we are!
