What you need to know about the role
Our Electrical Services team support essential electrical infrastructure & services for our integrated steelmaking site in Scunthorpe, as well as supporting other sites. The scope of the work includes building services, critical lighting installations, site rail network equipment, engineering workshop equipment, laboratory equipment and all other associated low-voltage supply equipment.
Working as an Electrical services team member you will be responsible for working alongside British Steel craft technicians & contractor resources to ensure safe and effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
Reporting to the Electrical team leader for the area, and working for other Team Leaders/Supervisors you will provide front-line support, you will work to achieve plant operational targets, product quality, customer service and health and safety objectives.
You will maintain and where possible raise the benchmark for engineering & safety standards in the area and will ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved in a safe efficient manner.

What we need to know about you
To be considered for this role you must be qualified to a minimum NVQ Level 3, or equivalent in a relevant electrical trade or have served a recognised apprenticeship.
Ideally you will have experience of electrical maintenance and fault finding within a commercial or heavy engineering environment, essential to the role is the ability to adapt to new equipment. You must be flexible, have a desire to learn and develop.
Knowledge of steelmaking would be beneficial but is not essential, as extensive training will be provided.
