Producing world-class wine is at the centre of everything we do. We are seeking a new member of our team to continue building the success of Digby's trophy-winning English sparkling wine.

About the Winery Production Operative, role:

It is a permanent role based on-site at our state-of-the-art winery facility in Madehurst, West Sussex, and we are open to full-time or part-time workers. The role mainly involves carrying out key winemaking tasks associated with the later stages of sparkling wine production, e.g. disgorging; labelling; stillages and riddling cages management; order fulfilment; stock control; and cleaning of the site/facilities. The role reports to our Operations and Finance Director.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting production planning with regards to riddling and disgorging
• Assisting with stock control and reconciliations
• Assisting with record keeping of goods received, goods despatched, and work orders performed
• Loading and unloading of wine riddling cages and stillages
• Labelling and packaging of sparkling wine
• Helping to dispatch pallets of wine for trade orders, and smaller orders direct to consumer
• Shared responsibilities for cleaning equipment and facilities
• Occasional duties arising, for example
• Assisting with vineyard management
• Assisting the Tasting Room team with sales events e.g. for external summer festivals
• Customer service and communications as it pertains to fulfilment of orders
  
  

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday 8:00 - 4:30, with a half hour for lunch
• Working patterns under consideration
• Full-time
• Permanent part-time (minimum three days per week)
  
  

Location This role is based at our winery just outside Arundel: Madehurst Winery, Madehurst Road, Black Barn Farm, Madehurst, West Sussex, BN18 0NJ

Requirements

Key Skills:

• Focus on achieving world-class quality and customer service at all stages of operations
• Forklift drivers certification essential
• Previous experience as a production operative or a warehouse operative helpful
• Willingness to learn on the job
• Ability to lift and handle cases of wine up to 25 kg
• Prior winery experience helpful
• A positive attitude and teamwork as a key member of a small winery team
• Initiative to perform tasks and improve processes while performing duties with the team or working alone
• Detail oriented and able to carefully track and monitor our operations
• Microsoft Office proficient
• Clean UK driving licence, access to own vehicle, right to work in UK are all essential
