You will be joining a dedicated and motivated small team as part of a lead role that is a job share. We are already on a collaborative journey with the Clinical Research Network and Dorset County Hospital to launch a Research and Vaccination Hub in West Dorset as well as furthering our existing strong commitment to relationships with our research partners within higher education. This part time role will require you to be flexible to meet a varied engaging and diverse portfolio. This, together with your understanding of a true partnership approach, will strengthen our existing team commitment to further research integration across our Dorset; giving opportunity for our population to participate and benefit from engagement in research that is relevant to the unique demographic of our county.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
The post-holder will work with the Dorset HealthCare Research & Development team. They will be required to assist in the delivery of first-class quality care to research participants and researchers who support research activity across the Trust. The post holder will assist in supporting a portfolio of clinical trials, from study set up to archiving, in accordance with clinical trial protocols, laboratory manuals and all relevant regulatory standards. The role will involve collecting research data, including screening, consenting and interviewing study participants; managing research data and study documentation; collecting, recording and maintaining research data records; entering activity data and extracting information from databases, providing clinical and administrative support to Research Nurses/Research Practitioners including performing clinical tests and investigations, processing and shipping samples and assisting with screening and recruitment processes. Post holders may also support, and be responsible for, relevant studies in their own right.
