Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming seafood shipments
- Clean, scale, and fillet fish according to customer requests
- Prepare seafood products for display and sale
- Ensure proper handling and storage of seafood to maintain freshness and quality
- Assist customers with selecting and purchasing seafood products
- Provide recommendations on cooking methods and recipes for different types of seafood
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the fish market area
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders for replenishment as needed
Skills:
- Food preparation: Experience in preparing seafood products for cooking or sale, including cleaning, scaling, filleting, and portioning. This skill set is preferred but not mandatory as training will be provided.
- Food safety: Understanding of proper food handling practices to ensure food safety and prevent contamination
- Food production: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to meet customer demands for fresh seafood products
