Flowserve are seeking undergraduate engineer to join the Haywards Heath Engineering team for a year-long placement opportunity starting in August 2025. Undergraduate engineers who are successful in securing this position will be in a 100% site-based role, objectives focused on Design & development of valves, Continuous Improvement (CIP), general Operations/Production support and Order Engineering support.
Your role:
- Work within the R&D team, creating 3D models and 2D drawings from the ground up in SolidWorks.
- Represent Engineering in daily Shop Floor Management Meetings by understanding and leading the resolution of issues identified during Manufacturing, Assembly and Quality Control which require Engineering support.
- Support Order Engineering by helping to understand customer requirements, create 2D drawings, 3D models, GADs, and Bill of Materials to help meet On Time Delivery (OTD)
- Support the identification and implementation of process improvement activities, lead Kaizen events and demonstrate the improvements made by presenting a summary of completed activities and KPIs.
Your profile:
- Must be enrolled on a mechanically biased Engineering degree course (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Automotive).
- Must have experience using a CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
- Must be an effective communicator, happy to present to medium sized group.
- Must have a proficient grasp of the English language in speaking, writing and comprehension.
