Almost everything we sell is designed in house or by designers we know, and all our futon mattresses are made by hand in our London workshop. Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Visual Merchandising Assistant, your role will be to design and create visually appealing and effective product displays that attract customers and maximise sales. Responsibilities include:
- Designing Displays: Creating eye-catching displays, both seasonal and for specific promotions, that align with our brand image. Ensuring they are commercial, functional and visually impactful.
- Feedback & Collaboration: Providing feedback to the Visual Merchandising Manager and head office team, ensuring continuous improvement of the visual merchandising strategy.
- Photoshoots: Participating in photoshoots for product advertisements, website content, and catalogues.
- New Store Openings: Supporting with the opening of new stores, ensuring that all display elements are correctly installed and visually appealing.
- Event Participation: Attending trade shows, meetings, and contributing to the selection of new products.
- Social Media Content Creation: Contribute to the company’s social media presence by producing engaging videos and images that showcase products and displays to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Competitor Research: Gathering insights from competitors for new display ideas.
- Hands-On Approach: Participating in the physical setup and maintenance of displays, fixtures, product placement, and visual merchandising elements across various stores.
- Communication: Liaising with store teams and the Visual Merchandising Manager to ensure displays are executed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Travelling: Regular travel to different locations to assist with store set-ups, remerchandising, and seasonal/promotional updates.
- Customer Focus: Ensuring that displays are designed with the customer in mind, making sure products are showcased effectively and prices/details are visible.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Creativity & Imagination: Strong design skills with a good sense of colour, style, and visual aesthetics.
- Self-Motivation: A proactive approach and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to work well with various teams, store staff, and management. You will need to convey ideas clearly and collaborate effectively with a wide range of people.
- Friendly and Approachable Nature: A positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment, building good relationships with colleagues and customers alike.
- Hands-On Approach: A proactive and practical mindset, with the ability to manage tasks efficiently and get involved with the physical aspects of display setup and maintenance. Able to lift, move, and arrange merchandise, fixtures, and props.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure displays are consistent, accurate, and well-executed with clear product details and pricing. Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Flexibility: Ability to travel to different store locations as required, ensuring displays are refreshed and updated regularly. Able to adjust to new tasks and store environments.
- Previous Experience: Ideally, one or more years of relevant visual merchandising experience.
