Geocore Site Investigations is actively seeking Assistant Drillers to join our dynamic operations team, providing quality site investigation services to clients across the UK. Our projects range from brief, single-day tasks to extensive, multi-week assignments in diverse locations including railways, highways, reservoirs, factories, airports, military bases, and refineries.

Ideal candidates should be ready for significant travel and extended periods away from home, typically from Monday to Friday. We are looking for motivated and hardworking individuals who excel in communication and teamwork. A valid UK driving license and either a CSCS or PTS qualification are required. While we highly value candidates with prior drilling experience, we are also interested in individuals with various types of site experience.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Acting as an assistant driller primarily for rotary and window sampling.
  • Adhere to best working practices and industry standards, training and guidance will be provided.
  • Adhere to working instructions as specified internally from engineers, lead drillers and supervisors.
  • Provide paperwork, namely timesheets and equipment inspection sheets and on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate with internal parties.

Technical Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post holder will be expected to attend and pass internal and industry recognised external training courses. These may include but not limited to, PTS, CCNSG, CSCS and First Aid.
  • Maintenance of ground investigation plant, equipment and tools
  • Competent at assisting the lead driller with rotary and windowless sampling drilling operations.
  • Familiar with conventional coring systems but not essential

  • Flexible in approach to work - both with regard to working hours and working away from home.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets.
  • Ability to work in a team towards a mutual goal.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all clients and employees.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.

Required Experience: ground works, ground investigation testing/drilling techniques and/or structural coring

In return we offer competitive rates of pay, overtime, prepaid (single occupancy) accommodation plus a cash meal allowance of £100.00 per week (4 nights). A site vehicle will also be provided along with a fuel card.

Candidate must live within 50 miles of Redcar.
