Job Description

Applicants are invited to apply for the post of Intelligence Support Officer. The successful applicant will work within the Central Intelligence Bureau, based at Hatfield. The post holder will be reviewing and disseminating intelligence in line with the force aims of crime reduction, community safety and catching criminals. To achieve this the post holder will be able to use force IT systems to collect, collate, evaluate and research intelligence noting patterns and trends.

Successful applicants will be working within a team formed of Intelligence Officers and Analysts.

This role is key to supporting the briefing and tasking of frontline officers and brings with it a significant sense of achievement. The post holder will not only be responsible for the administration of intelligence but will be expected to identify areas of risk and support key proactive and reactive operations and investigations.

The post holder will have good interpersonal skills, the ability to prioritise work and an enquiring mind. They will also be expected to promote the work of the intelligence unit in a professional manner.

Police Barred and Advisory Lists

Individuals placed on the Police Barred and Advisory lists will not be considered for employment by the police for a minimum of 5 years from the date of listing in the case of gross misconduct, or 3 years from the date of listing in the case of poor performance.
