Job Posting for Llandrindod Wells Team Leader at Kaleidoscope Project

Job summary

You and your team will be supporting people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. Without judgement, you will work together to help our clients navigate their way back to where they want to be.

Main duties of the job

Managing and developing your team to reach its full potential will be key to your success and will be your passion as a Team Leader. The role of Team Leader within a Kaleidoscope service requires an organised and flexible approach to work as sometimes you may have your own caseload of clients to manage alongside supporting your team. There will be data analysis and administration tasks to deal with too, but that's all part of this busy and varied job that you take in your stride.

Who are Kaleidoscope?

Today Kaleidoscope runs substance use projects across Wales, but our story begins in Kingston upon Thames. It’s 1968 and sex and drugs are the height of fashion. Pubs close their doors at 11pm, unrest brews in the streets and large brawls erupt. A safe place is needed for Kingston’s youth to gather.

Kaleidoscope, set up within an urban church, became that place. The name reflected the shattered pieces of youth culture coming together, be they mods, rockers, teddy boys, hippies or Hell’s Angels – everyone was welcome at Kaleidoscope.

Since we began offering drug and alcohol services in Wales we have become a major substance misuse service provider and run projects across the country, as well as our 20 bed in-patient detox unit in the Wirral.

We now have a staff team of 240 supporting upwards of 10,000 people a year across Wales

Across Powys we support people with their drug and alcohol use. We do not force people to stop using substances or alcohol altogether. If abstinence is not your goal, we can work with you to reduce any harm and improve your overall health and well-being.

Treatment centres have been established in the key towns of Welshpool, Newtown, Llandrindod wells, Brecon and Ystradgynlais.

The project offers:

Clinical treatment (Opiate Substitute Therapy)

Rapid prescribing

Recovery services

Family and friends services

Harm reduction services – needle exchange, Naloxone training and supply

Counselling

Referral to residential treatment (Rehab & Detox)
