Summary:
The Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor and is a key member of our Operations team. This position’s primary role is responsibility for preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. The Machine Operator will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency, effectiveness and reliability and will work the production line.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogues.
- Gather and maintain specific records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures, and processes used in the Milton Keynes plant.
- Create and maintain inspection plans, logs, and reports.
- Collect and analyze data using statistical analysis methods.
- Diagnose and repair/replace faulty electrical components, such as transformers, lighting fixtures, relays, switches, drives, electrical Motors, using electronic test equipment and hand tools.
- Perform general electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance and installations, as well as preventive maintenance on all pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Load and unload product for processing as well as sorting all inbound keg loads.
- Assist production and warehouse team in inventory counts; shipping and receiving.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment; utilize the 5S model of lean manufacturing practices: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize and Sustain.
- Manage keg inspection and sorting projects.
- Repair product to include rebuilding valves, repairing empty beer kegs, removing or fixing stickers, repairing chimes, decanting and testing for quality to make sure kegs meet customer specifications.
- Work as part of a team to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Identify ways to improve and promote efficiency and quality.
- Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Technical Knowledge: Constantly seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge, skills or experience. This includes knowledge of DCS/PLC control systems, high voltage equipment, PLC applications, line drives, process instrumentation.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic and computerized equipment including PLCs, AC/DC drives, motor control systems, and related equipment and systems.

- Ability to follow written instructions and documented procedures.

Qualifications
- Bachelor or Technical college degree in Electrical or Mechanical preferred.
- 3 years of Electrical and Mechanical experience
- Relevant operations skills of material handling equipment, such as forklifts and trailers
- Drawing design software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks is a plus.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
- This position is located in a production / manufacturing work environment. Ability to work occasional flexible, long hours based on company/volume needs. Work hours vary depending on business needs.
- Personal protective equipment is required when on the production floor to include: steel toe boots, hearing protection and eye protection. No loose clothing, jewelry, or accessories are allowed.
Other Duties
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty and training.
Salary Range: £15 - £16, per hour
