Operations Administrator (Freight)

Sea Kargo Ltd, a Freight Forwarding & Logistics Company with a warehouse located on the Port of Felixstowe.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our established team as an Apprentice Freight Forwarder in a busy and proactive office within a warehouse facility on the Port of Felixstowe. The work is varied, from assisting other members of the team, dealing with client matters to completing various administrative functions such as:-

• Carrying out admin functions for different client related tasks.
• Office administration duties to include various types of communications and helping other team members.
• Conversing with clients, suppliers and over the telephone
• Answering the phone.
• Invoicing.
• Stock control.
• Traffic Management.
• Using internal software and Microsoft packages including Word and Excel.
• Creating dispatch notes/devan reports, and then processing accordingly upon completion by the Warehouse Operators.

Role Requirements – Competencies:

• The applicant must be proactive, organised, and punctual, engaged and motivated as well as a good attention to detail. We are looking for a person who can add extra quality to our already highly skilled team.
• Any other duties as required.

Role Requirements – Qualifications:

• GCSE or equivalent Math and English (Grade C (4) or above).

Preferred commute to workplace:

• within 30 minute commute

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8am until 5pm
• 40 paid hours per week

Holiday entitlement:

• 28 days per year including Bank Holidays
• 2 paid sick days per year
• 1 flexi day incurred each full year of employment (max 5)

Apprenticeship:

• Level 3, International Freight Forwarding
• Training Provider, Logical Training

Please note: This role is an Apprenticeship. Non-UK nationals must provide evidence of having resided in the UK for at least three years and ensure their visa covers the entire duration of the Apprenticeship.

As this is a Level 3 Apprenticeship, candidates are required to have achieved a grade 4 (C) or above in Maths and English. If the successful applicant does not meet these grade requirements, additional training in these subjects will be provided as part of the Apprenticeship.

Pay: £20,000.00 per year
