Role: Functional Skills Tutor
Contract: Full time, permanent
Salary: £90 - £100 per day

We are seeking a
functional skills tutor to work for a fantastic provision we support, dedicated to helping young people with disabilities achieve their goals in work-related activities. Your primary focus will be in supporting the development of English and Maths skills (entry level to level 2).
What We’re Looking For
- Must have experience in tutoring or teaching students
- A minimum Level 4 qualification is required
- Strong relationship building skills and creative approach to teaching is essential
- Knowledge of Ofsted standards is important
- Experience with students with special educational needs would be highly advantageous but is not essential
Please note that this role may involve travelling between bases, so a valid drivers licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a functional skills tutor, your role will involve supporting students in their journey toward employment, volunteering and further education by:
- Delivering sessions on Maths, English, life skills and employability
- Collaborating with the team to deliver college programmes
- Assessing the needs of current and prospective students
- Teaching in small groups or on a one-to-one basis
- Identifying learning and training opportunities
- Maintaining accurate records and reporting on student progress
