JOB PURPOSE:
This key role is part of the leadership team of Moran Logistics and is responsible for setting the direction of the QHSE vision across our business. The role reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has responsibility over a team of direct managers and indirect reports across all our Moran locations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Setting the environmental, safety and quality strategies for the company in the UK, supporting Moran Logistics Social and Environmental ambitions which drive the Sustainability roadmaps.
• Supporting the company goal of becoming Net Zero by 2050.
• Providing the interface with all external bodies and with Quality and HSE groups on regional QHSE issues.
• Assuring the provision of quality, health & safety and environmental measures and data as required for the Moran Logistics
• Reviewing HSE legislation and advising on the applicability of any updates to Moran Logistics.
• Operating to BRCGS version 4 for food safety and quality.
• Ensuring that the company H&S system EcoOnline is managed to a high standard.
• Conducting reviews, including operational reviews of the sites’ performance in QHSE and other customer and product standards.
• Encouraging the development of best practices across sites within the QHSE function itself as well as other functions in the company.
• Overseeing the management of suppliers’ quality, supporting the assessment of new suppliers, auditing management systems and confirming quality approvals.
• Participating in the preparation of the risk and improvement plans, addressing the specific needs of the department regarding training, improvement projects, certifications, amongst others.
• Monitoring and auditing the safety of operations to prevent injury, loss or damage to persons, property, or the environment.
• Monitoring and auditing operations to ensure that products and services are delivered to high quality standards in line with customer expectations.
• A degree of traveling to all sites is required.
COMMUNICATION:
• To have good communication skills and ability to liaise verbally confidently with internal & external colleagues and stakeholders.
• Able to clearly demonstrate and present our strategy and vision.
• To keep the business updated on all aspects of risk and QHSE management and projects
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
• Educated to degree level in Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental management or similar in a relevant Technical/Engineering subject.
• Transport and Warehouse experience.
• Experience as a senior QHSE lead in large organisations.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent is preferable.
• Business continuity and Energy Management Systems is an advantage.
• Membership with industry institutions or accredited bodies is preferred.
• Advanced computer literacy.
• Strong conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership, engaging, coaching style.
• Exceptional knowledge of environmental, H&S regulatory and legal frameworks.
• Organised methodical approach.
• strong influencing skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.

SALARY:
£65,000 - £70,000 - dependent on experience
