Duration: Initially 16 weeks, can lead on to a permanent position for the right candidate
Rate of Pay: circa £350/day
Location: Piccadilly Line Stations (Hyde Park Corner, Leicester Square, Northfields, Cockfosters)
Qualifications Needed:
Sentinel Card
LU WSI plus Substation Pass
CSCS/CPCS
Relevant Electrical Engineering qualifications (degree or equivalent experience)
PPE Required:
Must supply own STC boots
Project Description:
Join the Piccadilly Line Upgrade Project, focusing on critical electrical substation works. This project operates in a highly regulated environment due to electrical hazards, requiring adherence to stringent safety protocols. Some sites may also necessitate a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
Key Responsibilities:
Design Implementation:
Interpret and implement detailed electrical designs and technical drawings.
Challenge and provide solutions for any discrepancies found in designs.
Raise technical queries to the client and communicate any client-related delays to the commercial team.
Site Management:
Conduct thorough site surveys to establish accurate electrical layouts and system installations.
Ensure compliance with electrical specifications and safety regulations throughout all phases of construction.
Adapt project schedules to maintain workflow and address any emerging site challenges.
Technical Support:
Offer clear, concise technical guidance to construction teams and site operatives.
Foster effective communication among team members from diverse backgrounds, ensuring everyone understands project requirements.
Safety and Compliance:
Enforce health and safety regulations on-site, striving for zero incidents.
Conduct monthly site inspections and maintain a proactive approach to identify and address potential safety issues.
Report weekly on close calls and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Quality Control:
Perform quality control checks on electrical installations, ensuring all work meets the required standards and specifications.
Complete Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and spot-check ongoing work to ensure compliance.
Aim for a “right first time” approach to minimize snags and rework.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate daily records, including a diary of site activities, and submit these reports to the project manager each morning.
Document and save all relevant site photographs on SharePoint for later handover processes.
Ensure all site activities align with programme hold points established with the client.
Additional Information:
All personnel must arrive on time for their shifts; late arrivals may result in denial of site access.
Attendance and participation in site briefs are mandatory.
Flexibility to work across all Piccadilly Line sites is essential, as project demands may change frequently.
