Job overview

We are pleased to advertise a full time, Band 3 Trauma Admin Support post based at Salford Royal Hospital which is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust.

You will provide comprehensive and efficient administration cover for the Trauma service and to the Trauma & Orthopaedic department as well as acting as a focal point for communication within the Trauma & Orthopaedic Department.

All training will be provided.

Shifts currently cover Monday to Friday 6:30am – 7:30pm

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will book all trauma patients on to theatre man and book New and Follow-up appointments into clinic, organise beds on Critical Care and Day Surgery Unit and liaise with theatre staff to ensure all kit and equipment is available for surgery. You will provide advice and information to patients, liaise with all members of the trauma multidisciplinary team and work closely with the the band 6 Trauma Co-ordinators and Trauma Consultant team of the week to ensure trauma lists are well utilised. You will audit cancellations, breaches, re-admissions, and outlier discharges, as well as a range of other general administrative duties.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be able to work well independently and as part of a team and will also be able to demonstrate basic IT as well as administrative & organisational skills. Some clinical and Trauma & Orthopaedic knowledge is desired but not essential.

Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • QCF level 2 or able to show equivalent administrative experience in a customer service setting.

Knowledge, Training & Experience

Essential criteria

  • Experience in customer service admin role

Desirable criteria

  • Can demonstrate experience of dealing with clients on the phone.
  • Able to use a range of IT systems associated with the administrative processes

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Can demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Can demonstrate good team working skills.
