Job description
We are now recruiting for an Accountant to join our expanding practice in Rochdale. This role will cover a range of responsibilities in a variety of different areas of bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax. The position is a full time role.
Your role will cover:
- Preparation, calculation and submission of Self-Assessment Returns to HMRC.
- Preparation of annual financial statements.
- Preparation, calculation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns to HMRC.
- Bookkeeping via a variety of digital systems.
- Preparation, calculation and submission of VAT returns to HMRC.
- Liaising with clients.
- Operating with a regular portfolio of clients.
- Monitoring / supporting and supervising junior staff.
- Preparation of management accounts.
Qualifications and skills:
- A good set of IT skills, with experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office products, accounts, tax and bookkeeping software, preferably with good experience of Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS / Digita.
- Good communication skills, able to confidently liaise with clients by telephone, e-mail and face to face.
- Good organisational skills.
- Able to work as both individually and within a team.
- Preference will be given to candidates with chartered, certified or equivalent qualifications.
