About the role of Deputy Manager:
You'll support the team manager in leading a team of professional Support Workers, dedicated to providing a person-centred, bespoke care service to make a real difference to the young person's life. The individual in this role will lead by example, setting the highest standards in all areas.
Other duties will include but are not limited to:
Providing person centred care which is aligned to the YPs individual care plan
Coaching and mentoring to achieve better outcomes for the YP
Report writing; daily reports & incident report forms and ABCs, for example
Ensure all your activities fall in-line within the regulations and code of conduct set by The Care Quality Commission
Stakeholder communication with family contacts, local authorities, emergency services, education providers and more
Adherence to the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA) and General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
You will also be required to help and support the Team Manager with the following:
Overseeing and leading day to day operations of the placement
Organising team-building activities and activities for the YP in care
Motivating support workers and YPs (Young Person) to achieve SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Timebound) objectives.
Working in partnership with other health and social care professionals and agencies, carers and families ensuring that decisions about care are shared.
Ensuring all compliance requirements are met and the team have the correct knowledge
Inducting and training new joiners to the team
Requirements
Above all else, we are looking for someone that cares and can demonstrate an approach to leadership and management that aligns with PCG values. You'll have a sound understanding of policies, procedures and legislation relating to our industry.
Due to the nature of this role, you must have an impeccable work record and have successfully passed your probationary period. You must also be enrolled on and engaging with your Level 3 or Level 4 in Residential Childcare.
