As a Data Migration Specialist, your main responsibilities will be

• To work with senior managers in DPI to understand their analytical requirements, translate them into project workstreams and data processes and data models (particularly postgres and oracle, but also cloud sources – including the new Data Platform once available), drawing together internal (programme), place (geospatial) and external (market) data.
• To work with Digital and others to identify and fix data process and integration issues in both new and legacy systems, where these are based on SQL functions and processes.
• Document and mark up functions and scripts in the agreed Agency tools (eg Azure Dev Ops, Unity Catalog, Purview).
• To work under the Senior Manager, alongside Digital and the wider analytical team, to understand, document, maintain and improve sql (and python) functions, processes and tables which the team is responsible for, and which underpin essential tools, systems and reporting.
• Write, review and debug functions and scripts (primarily in SQL, with an opportunity to learn and use Python and Javascript if desired) – including the use of tools like PGAdmin, Toad, FME, PyCharm, and Databricks.

• Experience in managing, documenting and improving SQL scripts, functions and processes.
• Experience of working with ETL of large complex data sets and working in complex data environments.
• Experience in the design, build and maintenance of databases and catalogues.

Desirable Skills

• Experience within Finance and Operations projects.
