This role requires proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations related to measurements and dimensions.
Responsibilities
Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
Perform welding tasks, including stick welding, to join metal parts securely.
Conduct inspections of finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and within deadlines.
Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the fabrication or assembly process.
Experience
Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar role within the manufacturing or engineering sector.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with sheet metal work is highly desirable.
Competence in using various hand tools and power tools effectively.
Basic maths skills for accurate measurements and calculations are essential.
Experience in welding techniques, particularly stick welding, is an advantage.
