Exciting Opportunity: Project Joinery Estimator/Surveyor
We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Joinery Estimator/Surveyor to join our growing Commercial Team in a newly created role. About the Role:
As a Project Joinery Estimator/Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in managing live projects, helping to drive the business forward. You’ll be the main point of contact for both the internal team and the client team, ensuring smooth communication and efficient project delivery. Your expertise will help manage the variation process, handle financial documents, and support Project Managers on-site.
If you have experience in joinery or a construction-related field and are comfortable managing both the technical and commercial sides of projects, this could be the perfect fit for you.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Project Joinery Estimator/Surveyor, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Managing Variations: Pricing, publishing, and handling external communication & follow-ups.
* Client and Team Liaison: Be the main commercial contact for both the internal team and client on live projects.
* Financial Management: Overseeing valuations, invoicing, and tracking financial documents.
* Pricing & Tracking: Pricing additional areas on live projects and managing Site Dayworks sheets.
* Document Assembly: Working with the Project Estimator to compile financial documents and contract information.
* Project Handover & Design Meetings: Attend project handovers and initial design meetings to understand project scope and build rapport with the client team.
* Assist Project Managers: Provide support with queries on scope and budgets.
* Collaboration with Cabinet Makers: Build relationships with key suppliers to help estimate hours and resources.
* Track Project Details: Accurately input and monitor carpentry, finishing, site installation hours, and materials.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience: 3-5 years in a relevant field (ideally bespoke joinery or construction).
* Skills: Strong numeracy and IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Commercial Understanding: Solid knowledge of project-based commercial processes.
* Problem-Solving: A practical, logical, and methodical approach to thinking and problem-solving.
* Joinery Knowledge: Basic knowledge of joinery is preferred but not essential.
Location:
* Based in Fakenham, with the possibility of working 2 days a week at our Norwich office.
Salary & Benefits:
* Salary: £30k - £38k, depending on experience.
