We are looking for design draughtsperson to join our dynamic team.
The role:
Working as an integral part of an agile team, you will support the engineers in delivering our projects across our three core services of engineering consultancy, equipment design and build and testing services. The role is full time, working Monday to Friday at our office in Hexham. There is scope to work from home 1 day a week subject to discussion.
Duties will include:
- Production of 3D models, animations and 2D manufacturing drawings (including fabrication, machining and assembly) through all design phases of a project
- Providing specialist knowledge and support to the engineering team on best practises
- Management and implementation of software design tools and systems
- Produce design documentation and specifications (e.g. bill of materials)
- Providing technical support to technicians and engineers during assembly, testing and commissioning of equipment as required
- Occasional Client and Supply Chain interaction as required
Who we are looking for:
We are looking for applications with the following criteria:
Essential:
- An HNC or above in an engineering discipline
- A minimum of 4 year’s draughting experience in an engineering discipline specifically in production of 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for steel fabrications and machined parts
- Proficient in IT and engineering software packages
- Good planning, organisation and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dynamic self starter, able to work independently and within a team
- Willingness and ability to contribute ideas and apply judgement in converting basic concepts into detailed design models and drawings (excluding calculations)
Desirable:
- Experience of the offshore or nuclear industries
- Knowledge of industry codes and relevant standard practices
- Experience using Autodesk products (AutoCAD, Inventor)
- Experience of BOM management and design documentation
