Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to patients in various settings, including care homes and home care environments. Your primary focus will be to assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing while adhering to care plans. This position requires effective communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Duties

  • Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support individuals with mobility and physical activities, ensuring their safety at all times.
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding as required, promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care and report any changes in health status to senior staff.
  • Follow care plans meticulously to ensure each patient's unique needs are met.
  • Engage with patients in meaningful conversations to promote mental wellbeing and companionship.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care, including documentation and IT-related duties.
  • Drive patients to appointments or activities as needed, ensuring safe transportation.

Skills

  • Proficient in English with strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
  • Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Basic IT skills for maintaining records and using healthcare software systems effectively.
  • Experience in home care or working within a care home setting is advantageous but not essential.
  • A compassionate attitude towards caring for others, demonstrating patience and empathy in all interactions.
  • Ability to drive is a plus, facilitating patient transport when necessary.

Job Type: Part-time

Expected hours: No less than 44 per week

  • Care home: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:
