Job Description

Sage has an exciting opening for a Programme Manager for their Enterprise Application Delivery function within IT. This role is accountable for management and delivery of complex, multi-geography, scaled IT programmes and projects focused on the development and rollout of Sages Global Model Office (GMO) target architecture. The Programme Manager will work with various senior stakeholders across multiple functions, taking the lead to scope, plan, resource and manage programmes and projects to meet deliverables and achieve stretching outcomes. The Programme Manager will bring together teams of multidisciplinary colleagues in a virtual and matrix environment to ensure delivery is executed to the highest standards, with risks and issues effectively identified, managed and mitigated. With a broad range of stakeholders, the Programme Manager must be able to communicate, challenge and influence at all levels.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Maintains a Sage-first, outcome-focused mindset at all times
  • Accountable for the delivery of IT programmes and projects on time, quality, and budget
  • Accountable for programme outcomes, specifically to meet business requirements, contribute to growing and scaling Sage and in line with Programme Management best practices and Sage Projects framework
  • Partnering closely with cross-functional teams within IT, regions, and functions
  • Maintains and sustains delivery excellence across multiple projects often in complex and ambiguous environments
  • Direct and indirect leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, including mentoring and coaching, to create a high-performance culture within the programmes
  • Planning and tracking of projects and programmes, including defining required resources and budget for delivery and communication through regular reporting
  • Management of risks and issues to prevent or reduce impact on project delivery (quality, cost, time)
  • Manages and leads contractor and 3rd party suppliers within projects and programmes
  • Maintain departmental budget and actuals for their remit, management of expenses and software licensing.
  • Protect company proprietary and confidential information
  • Provide clarity and leadership to programme teams, staying calm and delivering following Sage’s values whilst working under pressure
  • Line Management - Supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training, career planning, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
