Job Summary: The Baggage Hall Agent is responsible for the efficient handling and management of passenger baggage within the baggage make-up and reclaim area. This role involves ensuring the timely and accurate sorting, loading, and unloading of luggage, as well as providing exceptional customer service to passengers experiencing issues with their baggage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Baggage Handling: Efficiently sort, load, and unload passenger baggage from aircraft, conveyor belts, and baggage carts.
  • Operational Support: Assist in the coordination of baggage operations to ensure timely delivery of luggage to the correct locations.
  • Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional assistance to passengers with lost, delayed, or damaged baggage. Address passenger inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to ensure a secure working environment. Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately.
  • Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain records of baggage handling activities. Utilize computer systems to track and update baggage status.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other airport staff, including airline representatives, security personnel, and our ground handling teams, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to baggage handling and passenger complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine checks on baggage handling equipment and report any malfunctions or needed repairs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in baggage handling, customer service, or airport operations is preferred but is not required. Training will be provided.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy baggage.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Attributes:
  • Reliability and punctuality.

  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy baggage items.
